How to download Pinterest videos

Everything you need to save a Pinterest video, image or GIF — on any device, in under a minute.

Pinterest is one of the best places to find short how-to clips, recipe videos, workout demos and design inspiration. The one thing it doesn’t give you is a save button for the video itself. That’s what VideoDownloader4U is for: paste a link, get the file. Here’s the full walkthrough.

The quick version

Every download follows the same three moves, no matter what device you’re on:

  1. Copy the Pin’s link using the share or three-dot menu.
  2. Paste it into the box on the VideoDownloader4U home page.
  3. Press Download and choose the quality you want.

If you just needed the summary, you’re done. The sections below cover the exact taps for phones and computers, plus a few things that trip people up.

On your phone

  1. 1Open the Pinterest app and tap the Pin you want to save.
  2. 2Tap the share icon (or the “…” menu) and choose Copy link.
  3. 3Come back to VideoDownloader4U and paste the link into the box.
  4. 4Press Download, then save the file to your Photos or Files.

On your computer

  1. 1Open pinterest.com in your browser and click the Pin.
  2. 2Copy the page URL from the address bar, or use Copy link.
  3. 3Paste the URL into the VideoDownloader4U box and press Download.
  4. 4Pick a quality — the file lands in your Downloads folder.

Where do downloaded files go?

On a computer, the file lands in your Downloads folder unless your browser is set to ask where to save. You can open recent downloads with Ctrl+J on Windows or +Shift+J on a Mac.

On Android, videos usually save to your Downloads and appear in the Gallery. On iPhone, tap the download and then use the share sheet to send it to Photos or the Files app so it’s easy to find later.

Downloading images and GIFs

The same box handles more than video. Paste an image Pin and VideoDownloader4U returns the full-resolution original instead of the smaller preview you see in the feed. Paste an animated pin and you get the GIF. There’s a dedicated image downloader and story pin downloader if you prefer a focused page.

Troubleshooting

“No media found”

This almost always means the Pin is private, deleted, or the link points to a board rather than a single Pin. Open the individual Pin, copy its link again, and retry.

The file opened in a new tab instead of saving

Some mobile browsers preview media before saving. Long-press the video or image and choose Save, or use the share icon to send it to your camera roll.

The quality looks lower than expected

VideoDownloader4U always returns the best file Pinterest actually hosts. If the uploader only posted a 720p clip, that’s the ceiling — no tool can add detail that was never uploaded.

A note on using downloads responsibly

Saving a video for personal, offline viewing is generally fine. Re-uploading someone else’s work, or using it commercially without permission, is not. Public visibility doesn’t make content free to reuse — when in doubt, credit the creator and ask. See our disclaimer for the full picture.

Common questions

Open the Pin you want, tap the share or three-dot menu and choose “Copy link”. Paste that link into the box above and press Download. VideoDownloader4U reads the public Pin and gives you the MP4 file to save.

Yes. VideoDownloader4U is completely free and there is no limit on how many Pinterest videos, images or GIFs you can download. You don't need to create an account.

No. VideoDownloader4U works entirely in your browser on phones, tablets and computers. There's nothing to install, though you're free to bookmark the site for quick access.

VideoDownloader4U returns the quality Pinterest actually hosts for that Pin — often HD 720p or 1080p, and up to 4K when the original uploader provided it. We never upscale or fake resolutions; you get the real source file.

Pinterest doesn't add a watermark to the original video file, so the MP4 you download is the clean source without any VideoDownloader4U or Pinterest branding.

Never. VideoDownloader4U only reads publicly accessible Pin URLs. We do not ask for your Pinterest username, password or any account access, and we can't open private or login-only Pins.

Save the Pin before it disappears

Pins get deleted and boards get archived. Grab a clean copy of the videos and images you love in a couple of taps.
